Dr Luigi Collarile (*1972) studied in Padua (Laureain Lettere and MA in Organ), in Basel (Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Solistendiplom in Organ) and in Fribourg (PhD in Musicology). He was research assistant in projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and at the Stiftsarchiv St.Gallen. He taught as visiting professor at the Universities of Roma 2 Tor Vergata, Basel, Geneva, and Venice, and at the High Music School of Lausanne (in Fribourg). In 2017 he obtained the Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale as associate professor (Italy). His studies have appeared in international journals and in several collective volumes. He is currently a lecturer in sacred music history at the Bern Acadermy of Arts and Kantor at Stadtkirche Brugg (Switzerland).

In the research project “Musico Pratico”, he is responsible for preparing the critical digital edition of Pietro Pontio's treatises and for investigations concerning their material history.
